EDAI, winner of La Caixa’s Social Challenges Call at Palau Macaya

EDAI has been selected as one of the winning organizations of the Palau Macaya Social Challenges Call by “la Caixa” Foundation, with the project “Building Bridges Between Minds and Diverse Perspectives”.

The project is based on the belief that difference is not a barrier to overcome, but a space for shared knowledge. Its goal is to create spaces for dialogue and artistic co-creation between neurodivergent and neurotypical people, fostering mutual understanding, recognition, and coexistence. Through artistic collaboration and critical reflection, the initiative aims to question concepts such as inclusion, empathy, and normality, and to produce audiovisual and written materials that promote social awareness and transformation within educational, healthcare, and social services.

The cycle will open on the 24th November with the inaugural conference “Understanding Our Differences: A Dialogue on Empathy and Neurodiversity”, featuring philosopher Agnes Callard (University of Chicago) and sociologist Damian Milton(University of Kent), creator of the “Double Empathy Problem.” This session will establish the project’s conceptual framework with an in-depth discussion on neurodiversity and the many ways we understand empathy and coexistence. There will be 5 sessions stretched out between November 2025 through May 2026.

Through this initiative, EDAI reaffirms its commitment to social innovation, inclusion, and the promotion of more empathetic, fair, and reflective societies.
