EDAI’s Early Childhood Development and Intervention Centres (CDIAP) in Barcelona — Sant Martí and Les Corts–Sarrià — have closed the first semester of 2026 with full compliance of the three key timeliness indicators established for public early intervention services: time from family request to intake, from intake to the start of the diagnostic assessment, and from diagnostic feedback to the start of treatment. Both services achieved 100% compliance across all three indicators, while keeping waiting lists significantly below the 2025 average. This result reflects the sustained effort of our teams to guarantee genuinely early and effective intervention, in a context of continued growth in demand: during 2025, the two services provided care to a total of 1,055 children — 585 at CDIAP Sant Martí and 470 at CDIAP Les Corts–Sarrià.

The first half of 2026 also consolidates EDAI’s pioneering implementation of Routine Outcome Monitoring (ROM) in early childhood intervention, a systematic, evidence-based methodology for tracking treatment progress together with families. By the second quarter of 2026, 72.53% of eligible cases at Sant Martí and 88.35% at Les Corts–Sarrià were already included in ROM — figures that place both services at the forefront of outcome measurement in public early intervention in Catalonia.

CDIAPs provide care to children from birth to 5 years and 11 months who require specialized intervention or follow-up. When the agreed goals are achieved, the child is discharged; when improvement is not yet complete, follow-up continues until the age limit, and if further treatment is needed beyond the CDIAP, the child is referred to the most appropriate service to guarantee continuity of care. Delivering this model on time, for every family, is at the heart of EDAI’s commitment to quality, transparency and evidence-based practice in early childhood care.
